Nov. 6: Ian weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. when we went to Scottish Rite on Friday. They started him on a Haberman feeder, which is a special bottle to ease feeding. Since then he has been able to actually eat a good meal. Before this it was taking about an hour for an ounce, but now he eats 2.5 oz. in less than 30 minutes. He has been gaining a good amount of weight that is important to be able to have the surgeries. He is supposed to be gaining about an oz. each day. Today at the pediatrician he weighed 6 lbs. 14.5 oz.

Nov. 10: Ian weighed 7lbs. 3.5 oz. as of Thursday at Scottish Rite. The orthodontist made an impression of his mouth for the NAM device, which should be put in the week after Thanksgiving. The NAM will help prepare his lip and mouth for surgery by getting everything where it needs to be. This method reduces the amount of scarring and has a better overall result.

Dec. 7: Ian is up to a little over 9 pounds. I'm not sure exactly how much since he wasn't weighed last time. On November 27 the orthodontist at Scottish Rite put in a NAM device, which only aggrevated Ian. After a few days of him screaming, Ian developed what we thought was an ulcer but turned out to be a tooth. The dentist pulled the tooth and now we are waiting for his gum to heal before putting the NAM back into his mouth.

Dec. 13: Ian now weighs 9lbs. 8.6oz as of Dec. 11. He is scheduled to have his first surgery February 19.

Dec. 27: The little guy is now weighing 10 lbs. 9 oz. and is 22 1/4 inches long, just a few days short of being two months old. We went to Scottish Rite today. We've been having trouble keeping the NAM in because of a sore caused by losing his prenatal tooth. Please keep him in your prayers. We want the sore to heal as soon as possible. The sooner he can get the NAM in, the better chance there is that we can keep the scheduled surgery date.
