On the mend

I have gotten reports today that Ian is doing much better. He woke up only three times last night and went back to sleep much easier than before. He had been waking up screaming and it has taken a lot to get him to calm down. I believe he is officially off of the Tylenol with codeine, but is still taking regular Tylenol as needed. He ate a 7 ounce bottle this morning. Now, this is a big deal! He had been taking maybe 2-4 ounces every 4-5 hours. We have been so worried about how little he has been eating.

I feel like there may be an end in sight! Thank you so much for your prayers, as I feel they are being answered. Please continue to keep the little guy in thought. He still has a way to go to get back his buddha belly :)

We'll be praying for a quick recovery and a big ole belly.;)

I really like our carseat. We got an Evenflo Triumph. It looks pretty big but I have a good amount of space between the car seat and driver's seat in my van. My only complaint is we have captain's chairs and the knobs that adjust the straps are up front and dig into the seat. It is rear facing to 35lbs and forward to 50. We plan on keeping Jordan rear facing until at least two. Okay, enough car seat talk. Have a good one!

Hi, Mary. I saw your commment on Jackson and Jordan's site about carseats. I want to tell you...we have been through many. Our most favorite and the one I would come back to time and time again is the Britax Marathon carseat. The straps NEVER twist, it is SUPER easy to take in and out if needed, and Ellie was SUPER comfy in it. We just changed Ellie over into a Britax booster seat so Reid could use her Britax Marathon rear facing. He has blasted right out of his infant carrier. He was pushing on the back of the seat with his feet...and I knew that safety wise, this was a big no no. I will tell you, the Britax carseats are not cheap by any means...but you can get good online deals. They carry them at retail stores like Babies R Us and so on....so we could try them out and fit Ellie well before buying. We saved close to $100 by buying online. Ellie was sad to give her seat up to Reid...but we love the seats so much we bought her the next seat which is the booster. Ok....enough said. I just wanted to let you know what works GREAT for us. I can not even tell you how many times my husband has said, "I hate this seat..." while talking about the cheapie carseat we have in his car for the kids. It's because the Britax spoiled us!!! Good luck with your search!

Wow, good job on the 7 ounces! He'll be back to normal in no time. And then you can give his little buddha belly a squeeze! : )

Mary,

Just wanted to let you know I am praying for you and Ian! Glad to hear he is on the mend. Although Holly has not had the hard palate repair, for her soft palate surgery it took two full months to get back up to 6 ounces. Ian drinking 7 ounces is super great! Way to go!
Best Wishes, Peggy (Holly's mom)
